Message Summary:
Physical Health
God values you. Your value is so high, it is worthy of the death of His Son so God can have relationship with you. You are valuable. We take care of things valuable to us. You are worthy of God’s Son because He declares it so. You’ve been bought at a price, the price of Christ’s blood. Our bodies are temples. You are not your own. Honor God with your body for you are a vessel for God’s love.
Rest
Rest is the foundation of physical health. It has many physiological benefits: cardiovascular health, improving immune function, decreasing inflammation and more. God shows us how to rest. The Bible gives us a commandment to obey the sabbath, and provides a formula for how. God Himself rested. Are you busier than God? God is more interested in growing you than growing your business. He considers rest just as important as work. The difference in feeling stressed versus blessed is rest. Resistance to rest is immaturity. Rest is your greatest weapon, it strengthens you.
Contentment
We must learn to be content. A lot of unrest lies in our desire for more. We sacrifice health for wealth when we are young, and sacrifice wealth for health as we grow older. Discontentment comes from focusing on what we don’t have. Focus on what you do have.

- Schedule your day of rest in your calendar. What steps will you take to be sure you fully disconnect on your day of rest?
- How do we rest in the goodness of God?
- What recharges your emotions and refocuses your spirit? How can you incorporate more of that into your daily life?
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Genesis 2:1-5 – Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Philippians 4:12-13 – I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Exodus 23:12 – “Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.
Exodus 20:8 – “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.”
Mark 2:27 – Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”
Psalms 23:1-3 – The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
1 Kings 19:3-8 – Elijah was afraid and ran for his life…He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die…Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep…The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank.
