Is the climb worth it?
1. What is your favorite dad joke to tell or your favorite dad joke to hear? What makes this joke your favorite?
2. Who is your favorite television/movie dad? What makes him your favorite?
3.”And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
We read in this passage what God says about His Son, Jesus. And it makes sense-of course He is pleased with Him. AND, God is well pleased with us too. We don’t have to do anything and He is pleased with us. Describe how this truth makes you feel. Share with the group if you are comfortable.
4. God wants us to know how much He loves us. He is ready for us to experience His love and then equip us to father others. Think about someone in your life, present or past, that has impacted you by loving you well. Maybe it’s your own father-or a spiritual father-a coach or a teacher. What impact did that relationship have on your life?
5. God loves you. He loved you before you ever did anything. He is not disappointed in you -He is not mad at you. As a group, take the next 3-5 minutes and sit quietly-giving these truths a chance to settle deep in your heart.
You are not alone.
You are fully known.
You are fully loved.
Our Father is well-pleased with each of us.
