Ruakh Part 1
Message Summary:
Carry each other’s burdens. The problems of those around you should become your problems. We are in this life together as a church.
The Lord gave us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a gift given to us, for us to have a personal relationship with. The Holy Spirit is with you and inside of you.
Ruakh. Before there was a name for the Holy Spirit, there was a name for the feeling the Old Testament writers received when talking about it. It was a movement of life. The wind that blew the trees, the lifeblood of creation. When Moses parted the Red Sea, it was Ruakh that was with him. That same Ruakh is the Ruakh that’s inside of you. It is God’s spirit, God’s breath. It will give you life and empower you. Ruakh gives you vitality.
We are all looking for purpose.Purpose is not something you determine or find. God predestined it before you were born. We were created by the creator on purpose for a purpose. Our purpose is to share hope with other people by encouraging them, loving them, carrying their burdens. Share the Ruakh that is inside of you.
Connection with others, prayer, and worship.Acknowledge the Holy Spirit that lives inside of you to grow your connection with the Holy Spirit. Be in community with one another. Being together is the key to being a part of a church family. We are missing an opportunity to connect with the Ruakh that’s inside our soul when we are not in church together. We all need friends, and an inner circle. The greatest tragedy is going through life alone.
- How can you best live out the purpose that God has given you?
- How can you help to carry someone else’s burdens this week?
- When do you feel Ruakh most in your life?
- How will you build your connection with community this week?
