Believe Part 2
Message Summary: We can trust and rely on his promises. When we have a dream, we can lean on Matthew 17 that says nothing is impossible with a little faith. When nothing seems to be going right, we can lean on Jeremiah 29:11 that says he has a future and a plan for us. If we believe his promises our daily life is changed. Believe like you have never believed before.
Don’t just believe for yourself but believe for your children and your children’s children. Help them replace negative thoughts with what the promises of the Bible say. Deuteronomy says teach your children about the goodness of God and his promises, so they don’t grow up forgetting about Him,
In Acts 16, Paul and Silas shackled in prison yet declaring the promises of God. Everyone’s chains fell off because of their declaration. Their belief changed things for those around them. The importance of being at church is that declaring the promises of God, can set you free and when you aren’t strong enough, then someone else is there to declare them for you.
By HIS Divine Power, he has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit who is our friend. The Holy Spirit does two things: Equips (gives you the fruit of the Spirit). Encourages (whispers God’s promises to you). John 14:26
We need to get good at calling upon the name of the Lord and the Holy Spirit when we are in need. We all have people we call on for different things. You can call on the Holy Spirit for strength and courage.
- What promise of God from the Bible has meant the most to you in your life journey and why?
- Talk about a time when someone else’s belief helped your ability to believe in God’s promises?
- How does remembering that God’s Divine Power gives us everything we need, help us when times are tough?
- What do you believe are the biggest roadblocks to you “believing like you have never believed before”?
- How do you believe being involved in the church has helped you stay strong in your belief?
- What steps can you take to rely on the Holy Spirit more in your life?
