Heart and Mind Part 3
Message Summary: Feelings of worry, stress, anxiety, depression, etc. will try to fracture your heart and mind. These feelings lead to fear, panic and being overwhelmed. Ninety-four percent of us experience these feelings on a daily basis. Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and knowing God’s truths in the Bible are the resources we need to help us have a healthy mind and body. We need to take care of ourselves, so we can help take care of others. God’s truths are living, breathing, and active in our lives. Our thoughts shape who we are. We can change our thoughts by believing in what God’s word says about us. Trust in Jesus and the word of God.
The saving grace of Jesus Christ is our ultimate source of strength through our cares in this world. All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. His presence changes everything. We need to train ourselves to look up and keep our eyes on Jesus. The more we look up, the lighter the burdens in our lives become. Look up into the sky, and focus on how big our God is. Remember God’s faithfulness! Tell yourself to get out of the way, give God your cares, and watch Him move in your life. Jesus is the good Shepherd who loves, cares, guides, provides, and protects you. Worship Him in song to express your joy and peace in His faithfulness to handle all our cares.
- What cares of this world do you need to lay down at the feet of Jesus?
- What makes it difficult for you to humble yourself before God?
- Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
1 Peter 5:5-7 – All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Psalm 119:49-50 – Remember Your word to Your servant, on which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word revives me.
John 16:33 – “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”
