Message Summary:
Mental Health – God cares about your mental health. It is important to be healthy, emotionally and spiritually, so that we can do what God has called us to do. You can’t get healthy without being transparent and vulnerable about what is going on. Pastor Josiah shared his journey battling depression and alcoholism. Therapy, proper medication, and Jesus changed his life. God can perform miracles through the supernatural or the natural. Don’t put God in a box. He can use doctors, medicine, and others to help you.
Don’t only think of the excuses as to why you can’t get better; you must fight the victim mentality. Because of what Christ did on the cross, we are not victims. We will never find freedom until we accept the identity of Christ in us. We must take the I Am out of our condition. You are not your condition; you are a Child of God. Jesus is the answer to your health and wholeness and an abundant life on earth. He is the vine, and we are the branches, apart from him you cannot do anything, but with him you can do all things. (John 15:5 and Philippians 4:13)

Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Psalms 34:18 – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Matthew 7:12 – So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
John 5:1-9 – …Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
Hebrews 4:16 – Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
