What’s the Point? Part 1
Message Summary: God has a different perspective on circumstances in our lives than how we think or see them. If we align our vision with the way God sees things, we will have the confidence and hope in Christ to walk through our circumstances.
The church is to equip and encourage the people to go and do the purpose God created for us. The purpose of life for us is to share the hope in Christ with others. God has placed this hope in you through His gift of the Holy Spirit. Our purpose is about others, not ourselves. We share God’s perspective in this world and do it in Jesus’ name. Jesus shared hope with the world by meeting people where they are. Blessed are those who know the hope Jesus’ gives.
Cross Timbers Church Vision: A community of Jesus followers committed to sharing hope both locally and around the world.
Cross Timbers Church Mission: Meeting emotional, practical, and spiritual needs in the name of Jesus.
Together as a church body, we can be “hope dealers” by meeting the needs of others while sharing the hope in Jesus with them.
- How are you being a “hope dealer,” or where do you need to improve?
- How do you meet the needs of others?
- What keeps you from sharing hope in Jesus with others?
Isaiah 55:8 – “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways”, says the Lord.
Romans 15:13 – Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Proverb 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish…
Ephesians 4:12 – To equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
Lamentations 3:21-22 – Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.
Galatians 6:2 – To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and strength and to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves.
