A Life Changing Weekend
What a weekend!
When you invest in Cross Timbers, you invest in changing lives. This past weekend was jam-packed with events. Every one of these events (made possible by you!) was designed to offer resources to our neighbors, help people grow spiritually, and show them a picture of how much Jesus loves them.
We started our day before the sun came up, as our rockstar serve team began setting up for the Hope Center 5k, which would help raise funds to meet practical needs in our community and cover the cost of meals for our weekly Feed the City event. There was fun, there was competition, and plenty of celebration. The funds raised at the 5k were enough to cover 800 meals! Thank you to the many sponsors, runners, and serve team who made this event happen!
Just around the corner from the race, we had a crew of mechanics, car washers, and more dedicated serve team folks setting up at the Hope Center for our semiannual Fix My Ride event. We were able to fix 35 cars for people who otherwise could not afford repairs and maintenance. This was a record year with more mechanics and service techs than ever before. We are so grateful for our sponsors and all who came out to help!
Meanwhile over in Argyle, we were able to host Blended & Blessed, a blended family conference to provide helpful strategies and resources for stepfamilies. After the event, one attendee said he enjoyed it more than he ever expected and left with new friends and a new support system to help navigate being a stepdad.
