An Extraordinary Life

Message Summary

The Bible reveals Jesus from Genesis to Revelation. Jesus is your only hope; He is the beginning and the end.

The enemy wants to steal our joy and peace. He wants us to set our minds on things that are temporary to disrupt our peace. The enemy’s goal is to destroy our faith. The world you cannot see is more real than the one you can see.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He wants to give us joy and an abundant life. It’s not about being easier or happier. It’s about being well in our souls. Nothing in life worth having is meant to be easy. Jesus is with us to give us abundance even during difficulties and seasons we don’t understand. But it’s because God is preparing us for what he has next for us in life.

If you want what Jesus has, you have to do what Jesus does. Growing in Jesus is about becoming more dependent on the Lord. The world tells us growth is about becoming independent, but a deeper faith is about being less dependent on yourself and more dependent on Him.

Cross Timbers is here to help ordinary people live the extraordinary life Jesus offers. Cross Timbers wants to see 11,000 people (1% of Denton County) find and live the extraordinary life that Jesus offers. We pray this community accepts the abundant life Jesus offers, and we live extraordinary lives through dependence on Him.

People who follow Jesus, share Jesus with other people. Jesus’s disciples were taught to focus on reaching others with the good news. Jesus taught them to reach all sorts of people, people in their circle and outside their circle. We are here to help all people as Jesus calls us to do. Jesus developed leaders in community and Cross Timbers wants to develop the church community to be leaders in faith. To help us do this, we need spiritual connection with others.

Discussion

1. Who is on your most wanted list to pray for that they will come to know Jesus this year?

2. Do you have times where you’ve prayed for someone, and the Lord has opened the door for you to share the good news?

3. Are there people who are broken and need Jesus, but you struggle to connect and build relationship with them? Are there areas in your own heart, you need to seek forgiveness so you can love on others like Jesus does?

4. What hinders you from sharing your faith more and planting seeds of truth in the lives of others? How can you overcome these hindrances?

5. How do you contribute with the first fruits of what the Lord has given you to further His kingdom? How do you utilize your time, talent, and treasure to reach the lost?
